The conference theme was about how design can be used to further social issues. We deconstructed the iconic brand system Brian Singer developed for the conference, and collaged them to create 'Social Value Collages'. The collages are loosely based on themes of Energy and the Environment, Human Rights, Humanitarian Aid, and Sustainable Development. Over 40 unique slides and sequences were created for the conference. Jones Street Station provided the music for these sequences. By using the TIME's iconic red border to frame key issues of the past decade, we drew attention to the deeper story behind an issue and encouraged people to access TIME's online archives. Everywhere. The seminar which featured a conversation between TV heavyweights Piers Morgan, Jeff Bewkes, Aaron Sorkin and David Simon was presented to a live audience at the Palais Cannes. I directed and produced the look and feel of this hour-long seminar with the help of designer Derek Deal. A canvas of screens and devices was animated alongside statistics showing how TV content is more pervasive and relevant than ever before. This visual framework was also employed to introduce the panelists and frame Time Warner's media properties.
